§ 2.385.020. Employees authorized to arrest for violations of Titles 6 and 8 of this code.

Pursuant to California Penal Code Section 836.5(a), any public health sanitarian, vector control officer, or environmental health technician (health employee) employed by the city, and designated by the city manager pursuant to Section 2.385.030, is authorized to and may arrest a person without a warrant whenever the health employee has reasonable cause to believe that the person to be arrested has committed a misdemeanor in the health employee's presence which is a violation of Title 6 or Title 8 of this code, which titles the health employee has a duty to enforce.
