§ 2.395.030. City officers' and employees' duty on finding property.

  • A.

    Every officer and employee of the city who finds or otherwise comes into temporary control of any personal property as herein defined on or about public grounds, streets, highways, places or property of the city shall deliver the same to the police department, together with a written statement fully describing the circumstances of the finding, including the time and place of the finding, and if known, the name and address of the owner or person believed to be the owner.

    B.

    The person finding the property shall also deliver a copy of his written statement to the head of the department in which he is employed.
