§ 13.08.090. Air conditioning and appliances.

  • No person, firm or corporation in the city shall make, cause or permit the use of electrical energy for air conditioning, heating, cooling or operation of appliances in any commercial or industrial establishment during any period that the establishment is not carrying on the usual and customary activities of that business, unless such use is required by law or is essential to provide necessary services and reasonable temperatures during business operations or for the protection of temperature sensitive goods, wares, merchandise or operations. Where it is not established that a net energy savings can be achieved by operating space conditioning equipment during nonbusiness hours, such equipment shall be turned off.
