§ 12.20.090. Responsibility and violation.

  • Every owner, agent, occupant, lessee, tenant and subtenant of any building who has not provided an existing building with proper numbers on or before the date of adoption of this chapter and every owner, agent, occupant, lessee, tenant and subtenant of any building which may hereafter be erected who has not provided such building with the proper numbers on or before the date of completion of the building shall be subject to notification to do so in writing at any time by the building official. If within 15 days from receipt of the notification, the owner, agent, occupant, lessee, tenant and subtenant fails, neglects or refuses to do so, he shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 or by imprisonment in the city jail not exceeding 6 months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
