§ 10.53.030. Application and determination.

Latest version.
  • A.

Any person seeking terminal and route designation under this chapter shall submit an application to the public works department on a city-approved form.

    B.

Upon receipt of the application, the traffic and transportation engineer will conduct an investigation to ascertain whether or not the proposed terminal facility meets the requirements for an interstate truck terminal. Once a terminal is approved, the traffic and transportation engineer will then determine the capability of the route requested and alternate routes, whether requested or not. Determination of route capability will include, without limitation, a review of adequate turning radii and lane widths of ramps, intersections and highways and general traffic conditions such as sight distance, speed and traffic volumes. No access route from a federally designated highway system will be approved without the approval of the California Department of Transportation.

    C.

The traffic and transportation engineer is authorized to designate the interstate truck terminals and their connecting local truck routes, and to revoke or withdraw such designations.
